Default 5 Gal salt mixing bucket

I have a smaller system about 50 to 60 gals total water volume (40 gal tank 30 gal sump).
and I have been mixing salt in a 24 gal can about 15 gals at a time, needless to say that was causing a lot of wasted space and transferring to buckets.

Well after some thought, I came up with a cheap 5 gal bucket with a nice opening that is big enough to get a powerhead in and can still seal it up after it's done mixing.

Part list:
New 5 Gal paint bucket and lid.
PVC Charlotte Pipe 4" PVC DWV Cleanout Plug
PVC Charlotte Pipe 4" PVC DWV Cleanout Adapter
PVC Oatey Closet Flange Spacer
8 x Nylon bolts 1/4"
8 x Nylon nuts 1/4"
Tube of silicone

Start with a clean 5 gal paint bucket and lid, old salt buckets work well.
take the lid off and trace the diameter of the Cleanout adapter in the center of the lid.
now use a rotozip or dremel with a spiral bit or whatever other method you can come up with to cut the hole you just traced, test that the Cleanout Adapter fits in it.

Now with the PVC Oatey Closet Flange Spacer you will need to cut away the inner ring for so that the Cleanout Adapter fit in it nice and snug.

Now put the Closet Flange Spacer on the lid over the opening and drill holes for the nylon bolts.

Put a bead of silicone around the hole and bolt down the Closet Flange Spacer with the Cleanout Adapter in it, put on the Cleanout Plug and done.

To make even more water tight you could use pvc cement to join the Closet Flange Spacer with the Cleanout Adapter.

I have a mj1200 with a hose on it in the sump and I just put the hose in a empty 5 gal bucket and then hit the switch for the pump, and then put my new saltwater bucket on top of my ATO reservoir and do a manual siphon to the sump for right now, I may fashion a pump and bulkhead drain with a valve but main goal was to get it to be fast and dry with little clean up and so far this is working good for that.
