December '09 Contest 2 - International - Reef-Geeks

This month we will be holding 2 photo contests: one for International members and another for North American members! Each prize is valued at $100!

The theme for both contests is: Show off your BEST reef photo! (anything goes!) Submit your favorite photo which will be voted on by our peers. All members will be able to vote in BOTH contests. Entries will be cut off on December 15. Then voting will take place and the winners will be announced on December 30.

The winner of the International contest will receive a SPECIAL gift generously donated by our own Kyriakos (and he's covering shipping too!). It's a free Aqua Medic dosing pump. It is 240 volt so it is only for those of us who have the capability of powering it.

The SP range of dosing pumps are economic peristaltic pumps for pumping small volumes of water. They can be used for bypass filters such as the Nitratreductor and the Calciumreactor, to top up evaporated water when combined with an aquaniveau and a Kalkwasserreactor and for the automatic dosing of fertilisers and minerals. In freshwater aquariums ferreal, the iron based fertiliser, can be added daily. In coral reef aquariums, the addition of calcium and trace elements (products of the Reef Life series) can be automated using the SP series. The pump is supplied a long life Santoprene® hose.

Technical Data: SP 3000/SP 1500
Capacity - fixed 3 l/h (c. 0.08 gph) 1.5 l/h (c. 0.04 gph)
Motor - Synchronous 20 rpm/10 rpm
Power consumtion 4.5 watts/4.5 watts

Well the North American contest is for North America (Canada is in NA right Christy?

). FinsDepot will ship internationally, however we did this contest this way because the doseing pump is 240volts so no one in North America would have been able to use it, however Europe, Australia and Asia do use 240v hence International contest.

cheers!! i have 3 of those and two are sitting boxed in my garage

i also use it for my auto-top , the others where mend to be used for calcium and nitrate reactor but i have them working through T connection from the main .
