2010 Photo Contest Schedule

We are going to have some kick a** contests this year and our biggest one will be the monthly photo contest . We want to give all you Reef-Geeks a heads up on the photo contest schedule so you can dust off your cameras and start snapping away.

January: SPS
February: Fish
March: Clams
April: Anything goes
May: Anemones
June: Full Tank
July: LPS
August: Anything goes
September: Softies
October: Out of the ordinary
November: Crustaceans
December: Full Tank

Prizes for each contest will be announced at the start of each contest in its own thread,. So get snapping and lets see what you got

Sweet, I just got done snapping a few nice one's. Gonna have to read the camera manual though.

Awesome, this should make things very interesting! now its a planned competition not a random whats on the hardrive that fits the catagory this time competition!


I like the out of the ordinary one (is that out of the ordinary in general or still marine?)

Chris can we do the polls so everyone gets two votes and so everyone can see who voted for what?

I think we can do that. Does everyone want it to be like that?

I really like the 2 votes...but would rather not know who voted for what...

also...is there a way that the 2 votes can NOT be for the same picture??? otherwise it's defeating the purpose since everyone will vote once for themselves anyway...

I did kind of an experiment with the "washing hands poll" and I clicked on view who voted for what and multiple votes. So far I can't see who voted for what but yes you can definatly vote on two items but not the same one twice.

Ok ill play around with polls today some and see what happens

how about expanding Nov crustaceans to include any non clam mollusk/bi- valve?

And Paul...we could certainly include non-clam molusk/bi-valve with crustaceans as long as everyone else is OK with that! so geeks...what do 'ya think?

It is fine with me, the contests are awesome no matter what.

Yes entry for March is over. We run an entry thread from the first to the 15 of each month and then a voting thread from the 15th to the end of the month. All have April's thread up in a few days
