ooops i put up a highly photoshopped single clam shot. will fix that. but none of the pics i just took looked much closer to it in person.the clam is much more brown/black with orange rim. i liked the back perspective too.
the clam looks more like this, without the light reflection, but it's still not right.

thnx here's babs derasa, named for barb. not quite as purple as when she was a baby. amazing growth ring, takes up 1/2 the shell. in the corner way off the main lights, at the bottom of the 75, under ai leds since dec. gonna move her after a couple others get really acclimated

I'll have to start a thread about the pyramid snails... i'm about to follow chris's thread to rid myself of them finally. And for your clam color in the pic, i'll try to help if the "expert" doesn't show! what model camera again? i want to google the manual?

varies. sometimes auto [mostly] a few in manual, some in raw, others not

Paul, i'd probably be able to help out best if i had camera in hand, and the manual is already downloaded on my laptop. When you're up north again chauffeuring the Mrs. around, you're welcome to stop by and take some practice pics with me. Or we can just pick a time, i bet Bill would be interested also, Chris too.
But i found keeping the camera in a more "manual" or semi-manual mode allows "you" to make the changes, and see what affects what instead of the cameras sensor getting tricked by the tank and trying desperately to compensate..... shutter speed, aperture, white balance, exposure.. i know, there's a lot of things, and they all affect eachother. But if your snapping pics right next to me, i'm sure we could get you taking consistent pics in no time.
