Default Hanna phosphate meter how to

I made a short video of how i use the Hanna checker phosphate meter because some people seem to have problems with it. The biggest problem ive seen is the meter timing out before you're ready to do the test. This is easy to fix if you get all you're ducks in a row before you start. The next problem ive seen is that people dont hold the button in long enough when going from C-2 to the count down. You have to wait till the timer starts before you let go or else you can get some funny readings IME.

Anyway heres the video and i hope it helps people.

Never heard anything about temp effecting the reading. Im sure in extremes there might be a problem but at reef tank temps, shouldnt have a problem.

light in the room shouldnt effect the reading, thats why it has a lid. The light i was talking about in the vid is inside the meter. It has a little LED or something that lights up in there.

Yes im removing phosphates right now. PO4 was lower but the reactor's flow got blocked and it wasnt noticed so phosphates creeped up a bit.

Thanks for the video. I was going to pick one of these up soon. It's amazing how many people can screw these kinds of tests up. I work with several unfortunately. The concept is that the glass must remain as invisible as possible. Water spots, oil, finger prints, scratches, bubbles can all screw up the passage of the light beam and scew results.

Looks a lot easier than the test kits.
