I picked every now and then. I used to use it almost all the time but im now trying vodka so im not using it at all.
When i did use it i would add about 1000grams at a time and run the water really slow through it. That way you dont have to change it as often |

I picked every now and then. I used to run GFO all the time until my clams started having a problem with it. I will have to check out the white bead stuff. Does it work as well?

All the time, changed out every couple of months (unless my PO4 reads higher than I'd like). I just finished up some I bought in a group order which I think came from Bulk Reef Supply awhile ago, now I'm using Phosban until I can get some more from BRS.

The aluminum stuff does work but it can get the PO4 numbers as low as the iron stuff

I put now and then, I really go by how my corals look If they are looking a bit off ILl start using it in a reactor Like carbon one I built, Between testing and monitoring you can pretty well tell when to start it.

I have been running Phosban for about 6 months i have just switched it off for a few days ago. See how the tank goes with out it. But i might switch back to those little white beads as well. One more thing i made my Phosphate reactor out of a Lees protein skimmer lol See those skimmers are good for something

I use phosguard every now and then. Not on a regular basis though, as I use a canister filter to run it atm, and it's a pain to service. I've tried GFO and wasn't happy at all with it's results. Phosguard is better for silicate removal too, which is handy if you have a dino outbreak

All the time, change once a month .I use Aquamedic antiphos fe which is highly active iron based product containing no aluminium and is completely non toxic to aquarium animals. And is placed in a large canister with my active carbon.
