most definitely. My town runs a tds around 180. It absolutely sucks.

One thing that I would love to happen is a way to drain the RO filter and the canisters after you run the water. When I turn it back on I have seriously high tds for a couple of minutes that goes into my storage or tank. If there was a way to prevent it, without dumping the water. I keep it in the storage barrel all the time.

Purelyh20 has a membrane flusher and a bypass to get rid of the first 90 secs of water to save the DI resin. Check that out. Id link it but I dont know how. lol

Ok I came across another system, please tell me what you think:
Reef Aquarium RO DI Reverse Osmosis Water Filter 75 gpd | eBay

Correct me if i am wrong but what i see is that most sytems are made the same, but the money and quality of output is in the canisters.

RO/DI Systems

$20,000 later....
Default RO/DI Systems

Hi RayFacci,

I own a system from Bulk Reef Supply, mine is the 6 stage Deluxe RO & DI system which includes digital Filter Monitor, a Dual TDS Meter and a Flow Meter. Here's a link This unit is a little expensive but my water source (treated well water) is really bad and I wanted a really good system that would last me a long time.

I can't say enough good things about Bulk Reef Supply... They have amazing technical help, on-line videos and documentation. They also carry all the replacement supplies.

They do make smaller and less expensive system that you can upgrade as you go too if that is a more cost effective option for you. No... I'm not associated with them, I just like their stuff!

Hope this helps

Lower starting TDS wont change the rejection rate, thats a ratio. 4 to 1 will always be 4 to 1 but lower starting TDS will make the filters last longer.

Doesnt look like a bad unit but the TDS meter it comes with isnt as good as the inline ones IMO.

Im hoping that pump works well in dropping my rejection rate. I may add a primary pump as well. Using 500 gallons to get 100 doesnt sit well with me.

i'd like to suggest contacting russ at buckeye field supply. nothing against brs at all. i have found customer service at buckeye superior. russ talked me outta a booster pump from him and i now have exactly a 4:1 rejection rate down from a 10:1 earlier, simply by a new flow restrictor for $4. plus their di is amazing.
