When I bought my new tank in 90 gal. there was a jar of CupriSorb in the box. I never used it as I didn't know what it was. I see it is for metal/copper removal. Is this something I should keep on hand, need, or what?

Nope, never used it.I saw it was pricy and it seems if it's pricy, you need it in this hobby.
