What is this. There's two of them. One is pretty small just a couple cm long and the other is about an inch long. Very visible (balls) on the back fourth of it.

that's what they are. Brine shrimp. The were in my sump. Dang, they grew big!!!!

Mutant shrimp, thats why there Very visible (balls) on the back are so BIG

I know it. Well they didn't make it. I put them in my tank with the black and white ocellaris. It took on the big one first then chased down the smaller one. They made a great appetizer.

that's exactly where I got them from. I was vacuuming some of the gunk out of my sump this weekend and they were in the bucket tonight.

Were these just 2 strays that made it into the sump from a previous feeding time? Brine shrimp eggs need to dry out to be viable right? Or can they breed in a sump?

I would think they would be able to hatch in the sump but the food used to feed the fry is super fine.

But anything is possible.

I've been putting in my extra microalgae. The brine eat it up. Nanno is good for them.
