They are doing quite well thanks. I have 19 remaining of the first batch and 20 remaining of the second set I collected which started out as a small batch. I am going to combine them here in the next day or so to make room for the next batch that's around day 6 or 7. This next batch looks to be at least 200. I'm going to try removing the eggs to the larvae tank the night of the hatch this time around to see if I can't get a larger number of the fry without the tedious collection.

I did! I waited until the lights went out and added water from the parent tank to the larvae tank. Then I put the air wand under the saucer so that the bubbles were hitting the eggs and moving them back and forth. all but one hatched over two days. I'd estimate that I had over 100 larvae but after day 3, they started to die off. I was in the middle of some projects and kind of dismissed it as the weaker ones dying off then came home the next day and the majority of them had died. I was still preoccupied with other things until today when I realized I never checked the ammonia levels since the hatch. It's was 4.0 today. I just did a 50% wc and added amquel and I will do another 50% wc tomorrow. I'm down to less than 10 from this batch now. :-(

We'll see how it goes with the next batch. I think I'm going to transfer the eggs again. There was something peaceful about moving the clutch to the larvae tank at 10:30pm and going to bed resting for work and knowing I'll have them all in the tank when I woke up...like Christmas!! I'm just hoping mama will spawn again soon. She didn't seem none too happy with the male after I removed the disc. I replaced it with another disc but she hasn't spawned yet even though her belly looks like she's about to burst. It's been about 17 days since the last spawn. At one point she was doing it every 11-12 days.
