A long time back I put some floss inside the tube of the tank siphon and conected one end to a small electric circulator pump

Works like a charm!!

Can siphon grungies off the sand and gravel and the floss catches it,, ya got to be carefull though some pumps will pump the tank dry pretty quick!!

I would do 1/2 the tank one week and the other 1.2 the next ..

I am using the pump for other things now so no pics !!

I do my water change with a 50 foot hose, an entire gallon would have to be siphoned before reaching my mouth When I’m using a short hose I would dunk it in the water and plug the drain end with my finger then pull it out. Since water is already in the line there isn’t any need to suck.

At first the poo was gross and made me have to brush and floss my teeth, but eventually it got to become a similar relationship as the one Bear Grylls and his urine developed in the TV series "Man vs. Wild". Now occasionally you get some poo that just makes you . However, normally the salt and fishy flavors enhance the poo to a culinary confection that is unmatched by any of a chef's creations. I believe salty fish poo is the future, and should be embraced by all those who enjoy good eats. While it is an acquired taste, aren't most delicious foods and beverages the same? Maybe instead of avoiding the poo you should enjoy the poo. You are what you eat, eats, after it passes through after all.
