never used one yet. I actually just built one like the one in that other thread today. I just need to figure out how to do the light and how to screw on the bottle. I have the mesh on the bottle already too. I'm going to try to get this all done by the time this next batch is ready.

As luck would have it, both the Onyx and Picassos spawned on Sunday. I'm not entirely sure of what the incubation period will be for the Onyx but I'm willing to be that they will both be hatching on Monday. The Onyx are on a photo period that is 2 hours ahead so I think I should be able to collect both spawns.

I traded my Beta Picasso Pair and the single Gamma Picasso Female for the Onyx Pair. I wasn't collecting their offspring so they were just going to waste. I cleaned out the 40 gallon breeder and they have the entire tank to themselves.

I have no idea how old these clowns are. I'd guess a minimum of 3-4 years based on their size and the size of their clutch. Make sure you check out my Picasso Thread, Kim. Lots of good info there!

I'll defiantly follow that thread too. Mine are just over a year, so at least now I have an idea of how much longer I have to wait for little ones. You have a great looking pair there, hope mine look close to that good when they're done growing.

Kim clowns can spawn at ages younger than 1 year. It's all up to them though. Some can be together for 10 years and never spawn.

See I've learned more hear in 2 weeks than in a year on other threads, and that could suck. I think I did it right though they are spending more time together in the BTA and have never really fought. I'll cross my fingers and hope.

My understanding is that half of spawn #2 is still alive but the deaths were completely avoidable. One family went on a week-long vacation just days after accepting the picasso and the other... well someone put a unprotected 1400 GPH powerhead into a 5 gallon tank...

I'm planning on collecting tonight. Heading out to DPA to grab a few new tanks and going to get them prepped and ready for this evening.
