Hope I'm not too late to chime in here. I have some information on the breeding of Blue Spots you may find interesting. While i have never bred them, I do know of an article that was published back around 2005 in a mexican fishery journal documenting a blue spot breeding experiment. CICIMAR (Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas) was fortunate enough to recieve a pair of wild caught BSJ's. The organization assigned a few members to care for them at their facility and they soon began breeding. After attempting several times they were able to grow a batch of young blue spot fry up to a centimeter in length, then they all suddenly died. Rumors has it that while everyone was away on a holiday break, someone whom was assigned to care for the bluespots accidentally caused a piece of equipment to malfunction killing all the fry off. Unfortunately that was the last time that particular pair bred. Now as of around 2009 I believe they were able to get the funding to attempt another blue spot breeding program. I have yet to hear or read of any results. I do know of several people attempting to breed blue spots and so far no success. I wish you the best and the only advice i could give would be to be patient and wait to find a mated pair. Put them into at least a 40 gallon w/ at least a 6 inch sand bed, allow them to have as many shells and small rocks as they desire to construct thier burrows. Play some romantic music and hope for the best.

Welcome to the site Mandarin91!

That's some good info. there is someone that's spawned them on record, but I don't know of anyone that's got past that either. Apparently they are some tough cookies to crack!
