How long has it been like that? Did you check its base when you got it to make sure it wasn't torn?

From the pictures it does not appear that it was ever healthy in your tank. The mouth should be closed and tight. If it looked like that when you bought it my guess is that it was doomed from the begginning.
How does it look now? |

It may not be doomed. Anemones are very finicky to water conditions and changes to their environment. If it was not acclimated slowly it could just be stress and it's trying to acclimate itself.
Anemones that are not slowly acclimated they will expel all internal water and absorb new tank water. They will do this many times over the first week or two to adjust their internal water to match their external. Looking at the pics that appears to be exactly what is happening here. Check your paramteters and make sure they are dead on. Anything out of whack will quickly cause an anemone to die. |

Sorry for the delays been at uni today and out xmas shopping. My tank is a aqua medic percula 120 with 2x150watt halide. 1x16k and 1x20k bulb. Water parameters are:
Amonia - 0 nitrate - 10 nitrite - 0 Phosphate - 0.25 calcium - 450 ph - 8.2 KH - 10ppm silicates - 0 I have attatched a picture of the anemone the day it went in, the maroons went straigh into it and opened up. |

I completely agree with cdangelo...I don't think he's damaged I just think he's acclimating...let us know how he looks in a couple of days! I think he'll be just fine! (your lighting and parameters seem just fine for it)...how much flow do you have?

I am definitely not an expert, but if the nem looked good for a few days and now looks like the recent pics, it sounds like it could be a little more then just acclimating.
Does it still look bad today or does it look any better? |

Still looks the same, as for flow if you are aware of the percula setup it has a built in filter in the back, it has 4 chambers, so there is a pump for the skimmer, pump to filter new water back into tank, end chamber has 2 oceanrunner 2500 and a fluval pump and in main tank i have a koralia 3 and a 4.. Thanks for the comments I hope we can get this back to helth with your help

OK ,first off how big is it ?
As i think maybe if it is small or small-ish ,your clown fish might be doing it more harm than good P.S What is your S.G level as well Cheers Andrew Oh and welcome to the forum

The salinity is 0.024. Also the anemone is about the size of a small dinner plate when it looked good

umm are you sure it is not 1.024 ?
Also as for the recession of the anemone , have you tested for any copper in your tank ? If flow and other parameters are ok, maybe test for copper. |
