Found a beautiful purple sebae - Reef-Geeks

So I was off today and my hubby needed to go to Seaford to help a friend move some stuff. So I figured I might as well stop by and check out Dr. Macs. I came home with a beautiful purple sebae anemone. It has stayed where I placed it (for now) and I have all my fingers and toes crossed that this nem does well for me. It is really healthy with good color, sticky tentacles, and its mouth is tight and closed.

I don't think that is going to be a problem:

I guess they like purple... I bet by tomorrow they are in the nem.

I looked around at everything except the clams. I did not trust myself to leave without 1 and my tank is really getting full now.

Thanks Chris. They still aren't in the nem this morning, but they do keep going over there and touching it. The chances are good I think.

I'm so happy your clowns took right to it. It does take them time to acclimate to it, so just keep watching. They will spend more and more time in it till you can't them out

I snapped a few quick picks of my female perc enjoying the nem. She acts like she is in heaven now. The male is still not ready to dive in with her yet.

Check out how much more this nem is expanding after 5 days in the tank. The first photo was the day after I got it and the others were taken this morning. I had to move the micro colony for its own safety.

The female decided she did not want to share the nem with him. He has been pretty persistent and he keeps going into the nem anyway and he has taken some bites from her as a result. I sure hope the female calms down soon. They were inseparable until she moved into the nem and then things changed.

That could go either way. She could want to be alone in there or she may eventually let him back in. I think, given some time, they will be happy together in there.

This is typically where the male stays now. Occasionally he will dash into the nem and the female will chase him out.
