Help me get this nem unstuck. - Reef-Geeks

I just picked up a couple of really cool mini-maxi nems. The one that I got from DPA was attached to a small glass bowl and so Charlie just gave me the whole thing. I cannot get this nem to let go. I tried Ice against the glass, but no luck. I tried gently using my fingernail, but I feel like I am hurting it when I do this. Any ideas? Here are a ciuple photos:

Haha - just leave it in the bowl and mail it to me

I've just gotten in there and pulled mine out with my fingernails - some little chunks stay on the glass (ouch) BUT, the nem is no worse for wear... Just pull it off, and then set it in your tank and hold it down for a minute or so and it should attach to whatever new rock you're trying to hold it to

As long as you don't tear the actual foot I think it'll be just fine ...

The only way i know of is to roll the foot up with your fingers. Ive never done any damage doing it that way.

maybe use something flat and plastic that you can force under it?

Ha Ha. I think I will keep it. Your mini-maxis are what got me looking at these,

I would try that first. My only other suggestions would be to add some flow to the bowl and see if it will move out on its own or break the bowl

I got it. It looks a bit stressed, but I guess I would be too if someone just peeled me off a bowl.

You can see the other mini above on top of the rock. Thanks guys.

He has moved off the rock and is on the sand tonight. I almost think he looks like he is going to split. I will try and get a photo.

This nem did not make it. I knew it was stressed, but I thought it might make it. I feel bad because I am sure it was fine until I made it move from the glass bowl. I will never buy another nem that is stuck to something that it can't stay with.

that crazy!!! I would have never guessed that moving him from the glass would stress him that much

Thanks all. I guess you just never know for sure if what you are doing is going to be harmful. I bet a secondary infection set in because it seemed to melt overnight. That nem was crazy stuck to the glass so I really had to force it.
