New nem on the way

So I just ordered this little beauty from coralprops (3" maxi-mini carpet anemone)




Now I have to wait for my local club to get it's act together and wrap up the group buy so they can ship it to me. My new clowns are going to be so excited

Nice! can't wait to see some of your pics of it... do these kind wander at all? and what new clowns did you get? i picked up a couple of those clarkii's at dpa for my 30.

I picked up a pair of true percs a few weeks ago and an ORA black perc last weekend. All 3 were gettig along phenominally - unfortunately I lost 1 of the true percs yesterday but the other perc and the b&w are SUPER buddy-buddy.

They're hosting in some stray xenia that is growing on a frag rack now.

So when are you getting this little guy?

Hopefully early on next week. The DRC is doing a group buy and we're just waiting for the last of the people to get their orders together.

Coral Props is making this super easy as they're accepting payments directly, refunding credits depending on the final discount, labeling all bags with the purchaser's names, and holding everything until the order is complete.

Because my $6 memory card sh!t the bed and rendered my $600 camera worthless until I get around to replacing it.

While we're there we can walk past the lap tops, which will cause us to stop and look. She has a difficult time saying "NO!" while we're standing in the store - but if there's nothing shiny in front of her she has no problem.

SO - the memory card can wait until I'm in a position to score a new computer while we're there

crack me up! do you REALLY think she doesn't know ALL of your "strategies" by now craig? .....just remember hon....she'll only say "yes" when SHE wants to!

I like your strategy Craig.....it worked for me last week when all I ever heard was "no bike!" but then when we got into the store and I got her to sit on it.....I haz a new scooter now!

to answer the question if the wonder I have a little the has move about 8 inches. I have two others they keep moving around the same rock. I did not think Clowns would host in a mini max carpet? Has any one seen one divid? or maybe have pictures? i have been feeding mine in hope they divid.

I still havent seen one divide - yet hahaha gonna have to experiment more with manual propagation soon

Manual propagation isnt too difficult. I use to have a bubble tip that got sucked into the overflow on my nano cube and was injured pretty bad. It sucked him through one of the slits in the back wall and the way it went through it kind of ripped him open from everything being squeezed to one side. I had to work him into postion enough to where i could use the wall he was passing thru as a guide to cut thru his mouth. then I had two. After just a few days one had already started coming back to gether. The smaller one that was torn and cut took almost 2 weeks to come back to gether and form a mouth. about four months after that the big one got too big and started eating my fish so I traded them back to the LFS i originally got the anemone from for some corals and the Picasso Trigger I have now. I really want to get another anemone for the 55 gallon tank I have now but I cant find one big enough to host 2 Gold stripe maroon clowns. But If I can perform emergency surgery on one at 4 a.m. (woke up from the sound of a dry pump vibrating against the glass and found the anemone in the overflow) and never having done it before, only watching one video on you tube about it, I think anyone can manually divide an anemone as long as they have very good water conditions. Just my two cents worth anyway.

I read what you said last night and thought i hope i never have to do that. then turns out i ended up dividing mine the next day to see if i could save it. thanks for you post it help me out alot. I may have just let it go ahead and die. Now i have two and one i am sure should be able to recover.

You are very welcome. It is very gut wrenching to find one of your pets has gotten so messed up. I am glad my experience was able to help someone out. Depending on the extent of the damage the healing can take up to a few weeks to show good progress.
