Keep 'em under observation - I've got some touching some rhodactis shrooms, and it doesnt bother them, but I think ricordeas are a little more sensitive than other shroom types
![]() If the ricordeas close up, convince the maxi to move somewhere else....

I'd go ahead and move it. Rics are a type of nem. No telling what they will put in the water defending themselves.

All mushrooms, Ricordea, Rhodactis are types of Anemones but the Mini Maxi's can be a little bit nasty.
One of mine moved over a couple of peach colored Ric's I had and I did not notice it till it was to late and the little turd had stung them to death. Be really careful moving it though, I moved one of mine from one tank to another recently. I just slid my thumb nail gently under its foot and with a little bit of steady pressure it let loose, but it was stuck to the glass which made this easier. If you can get your thumb nail under the edge and GENTLY start peeling it off the rock I betting you can accomplish the move in a short amount of time.

GREAT tips there mike!
.....good to keep in mind too as many seem to be getting the maxi/mini's nowand you're probably right icsd...any change in flow will most likely force a nem to shift too ![]() ...........anyone else here have "moving" experiences with their maxi mini's?

Anyone know the scientific name of these anemones? I want to read up on them a little bit more.

ok - there are two types of "mini carpet anemones"
Type #1 - "mini-mini" variety - reproduces often, is usually a 2-3" specimen, might as well be considered a shroom IMO - for the life of me I can't google the technical name, maybe tomorrow ![]() Type #2 - the "maxi-mini" variety - Stichodactyla tapetum - 4-6" specimen, rarely reproduces without some sort of manual propagation technique.
