Lindsay and I finally found what we wanted, and I guess when it rains it pours... due to some strange circumstances, we are getting two S. giganteas tomorrow and will have pictures up either tomorrow night or Friday

They are both nice and big
One is a bit over 9" and the other from what I was told is 12-15" and both purple. We have been looking for these for over a year and a half Pat I know but we have always worked our tanks around anemones so no big deal... today/right now I am going to break up the rock I did in the 65... lol and make it more into a lagoon type environment instead of a reef type environment so that the anemone will be nice and happy Pic's will come once the tank is done and anemone is in The other is in our sump of the "main tank" because we had always planned to put one in there so updates to come soon!

Yes we did
If you saw our system, you would see that that was our end goal with when we made that. It use to be clams and sps b/c we couldn't find our anemones until now and now it will be for the anemone. Craig, you get creative when you have very limited space

Oh I wasn't knocking it - I think it's a brilliant idea.
We put HO lighting over our fuges, grow pretty macro algaes, toss in the things we pull out of our tank -why NOT make the fuge a display feature as well?! Can't wait to see pictures!! |

Pictures will probably be tonight
As expected, the one I got in my 65g is a haddoni, and Lindsay's is a beautiful gigantea! Lindsay's already has our true perc's swimming ALL over it and they love it Mine, is barren and probably going to eat all my beautiful fish I just spent 2 months buying LOL. Anyways, pictures tonight

Temperament, safety, hardiness, tentacle type...
Gigantea: (looks beautiful) Temperament: Less agressive, less willing to move around the tank, more peaceful overall. Safety: These carpets are not nearly as dangerous when it comes to eating other fish in the tank. Hardiness: Giganteas love to die... period. Tentacle Type: Beautiful long flowing tentacles. Haddoni/Haddon's Carpet: (looks ugly :P) Temperament: Like to move around more and much more aggressive. Safety: Known fish eaters... Very potent nematsysts (spelling) that will eat your fish look them up online. Hardiness: Pretty hard to kill one if you have the right environment for them. Tentacle type: Short stubby boring tentacles LOL. You can see I am a bit bias and have always liked giganteas a lot more Nathan, but it is just preference from owning lots of different anemones

Well for the amount I paid, there isn't really anything else I can do with it ya know? I can't just find someone to buy it... I would need to make sure they know what they are doing, and could keep it alive on their end... and that is hard to do w/ anemones b/c most people just kill them
