Default Long Tentacle Anemone

Any suggestions on how to get my LTA to adjust better in my tank? This is one of the few anemones I have never had and it seems to be doing well it's just having a hard time rooting itself into my sand bed.... Any suggestions on how to help b/c its been settled then will swirl around for a few days then settle then swirl lol. Just wondering

Thanks guys!

We had one a while back and it wandered around a good bit before it found its home. You might want to try placing a few rocks on either side of its foot and pushing sand up all around it. No guarantee that this will help at all. You might also want to turn your power heads off until it settles down.

I'd use some rocks too. A lot of sand dwelling animals like that actually prefer being in the sand up against a rock, so it might be more comfortable having some rigidity to its sandbed.

That is kinda what I thought I have it surrounded by an opened cave of rock w/ many places for it to snug itself into so hopefully it'll find a home it will like

Just be sure to keep your eyes on it...like Chris said, ours wandered quite a bit (and caused quite a commotion at times too) before it settled...also try to keep it away from the pumps - - ours got sucked up several times and the last was too much for it to handle

NO Clue... Got it off the bottom of a LR as a small piece of rubble and it had them on there... I've had them for about 7 months now and they seem happy (Our two ideas are either sun polyps or the other yellow polyp lol)

Not sure lol Got it from the LFS b/c the main rock it was attached to looked great. Could be though b/c the rock is rather dense.

The anenome look's happy where it is.

Yeah, it's a suncoral. To keep it long term, feed it a little food once a week. Not to much, as you don't want to pollute your tank though.

The anemone does look happy...but keep in mind that looks can be deceiving so keep your eye on him...seems like the clowns may be taking to it too...if so how long did that take?

I agree My clowns were in it immediately but I expected that. I am a bit worried b/c long run I think they are gonna beat it up just like the BTA's and it'll turn south but thats just being positive :P

I just want my carpet... once I get that I will take the tang and lawnmower to our other tank so they don't get eaten alive :P

This is the one I am saving for and hopefully I'll have enough soon and it'll still be for sale

Thats a beauty, you better snatch it up soon before someone else does. They are pretty popular...

Looks nice and you got clowns to go into it. Our clowns wanted nothing to do with our lta.

What kind of light and K are you using?
