I do have live rotifer culture going all the time & other things, so playing with a batch or two isn't an issue if I "feel like", but I am not what you call an active breeder.

that's how we are now too! ......in the beginning we HAD to collect every batch! at one point we had 5 rearing tanks in our basement and at that point is when I had to put my foot down!
it was so exciting initially but it's also a lot of work........so now we collect every now and then when we feel like it......better yet when it's convenient for us!
